Fitness App Development : Our Journey in an App's Success Mystery
Our clients felt tired of the same old boring fitness apps that just track steps and tell people to eat less!? Well, we said, let's see what we can do. We started to break a sweat with our production team and really got on to making a new concept for a fitness app. Create a fitness app with passion we said!
Overall, the key to a successful fitness app is to create a well-rounded and enjoyable experience? Or is it? "Is that what helps users achieve their fitness goals" we asked?
Concepts like "Sweat Your Abs Off!" "Yoga with a Side of Sarcasm" "Zumba with a Dose of Dad Jokes" in order to create a workout app would definitely be considered as we wanted our clients to laugh their way to fit in no time.
"Suck it up, buttercup" - Amy Schumer
First things first, it's important to consider the target audience and what they are looking for in a fitness app. This can help folks tailor the app to meet their personal needs and preferences.
But this app would be for everyone!! with so many apps today looking like they're "not for the faint of heart" we felt we have to even the playing field. The very concepts in the app would be drawing users to build a six-pack and perhaps a killer sense of humor. It would have unique features that wouldn't be expected from a fitness app: tracking your mother in law, measuring your beard growth, setting life goals, and even a baby tracker to make sure they're fueling their body with all the good stuff.
So entertaining check engaging check .. and some effective workouts and helpful guidance. It would have folks sweating bullets and feeling the burn. "You can do it!" we thought. "Just think of all the snacks you can eat after this is over."
But what would set "Sweat Your Abs Off" apart from the rest is our hilarious motivational quotes and challenges. Need a little extra push to get through that last rep? How about a quote from comedian Amy Schumer telling users to "Suck it up, buttercup"? Virtual trainers would push it to the limit with workouts like "Salty Strength Training" and "Tongue-in-Cheek HIIT." And don't worry, they'll be sure to add plenty of snarky comments along the way. "Come on, one more rep? You're not even breaking a sweat. Or maybe you are and you just really smell bad." Or conceps like "Introducing Fit & Foul-Mouthed," the fitness app for those who prefer their workouts with a side of sass. On the other hand to please users it would also include a feature called "Compliment Corner," where the virtual trainer will shower people with unexpected praise during workouts. "Wow, you're crushing this workout! I'm actually impressed, and I don't impress easily." For those feeling down on themselves, "Sassy Self-Care" section has got it covered. From guided meditation to uplifting mantras, it would help boost folks' confidence and remind them that they're a total badass. "You're doing great, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Except for us, because we'll always be brutally honest." So if they try it and get fit while having a good laugh (and maybe even learning a few new curse words) their abs (and sense of humor) will thank them.
Or maybe folks need some "friendly" competition to keep them motivated. That's where our "Sweat Offs" come in. Challenge friends mode to see who can run the most miles in a week, or see who can hold a plank for the longest. Good friends can create a great competition to spread word about! The winner gets bragging rights to their grandkids and a virtual "high five" from our famous team of fitness gurus.
The app could have a specific focus, like yoga or HIIT workouts, or a particular feature or approach, like personalized workout plans or virtual reality workouts. It's well known regular daily exercises can help folks improve their health & mental health.. thinking.. learning.. and memory every day as they age. But we wanted an app that is awesome, feels natural, and really helps as many people as possible :)
We wanted it to be better than a gym where everyone wants instant results every January but they end up comparing bicepses and quit. I’ve always found it funny how gyms are both social and anti-social. We wanted users to have the real deal with a suite of cool stuff to do.
But the fun doesn't stop there. It will also have virtual group fitness classes led by some of the funniest trainers around. From here users will be laughing their way to fit in no time.
That is our latest marvelous journey into fitness mobile app development. The app is successful so when folks are ready to get in shape and have a good time doing it they can download "Sweat Your Abs Off" and start a fabulous journey to a stronger, funnier version of themselves!
